Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hasn’t even made its UK and North American release yet and director James Gunn is already touting that there will be yet another “secret” easter egg that fans will be hard pressed to find. Gunn went back on the record recently and stated that there is still that one elusive easter egg out there from the original Guardians of the Galaxy.

“I am not going to [reveal anything], but people have gotten very close. So, I don’t think it will be very long until it comes out.”

Unfortunately, Gunn wouldn’t elaborate when he was asked about what this undiscoverable easter egg could be. MCU fans are already aware of the many easter eggs from the first Guardians film. Some of those include Adam Warlock’s cocoon, Cosmo the Space Dog, the many 80’s references, Peter Quill’s crush on Alyssa Milano, Marvel’s “12%” inside joke, and the obligatory Stan Lee cameo. With 80’s icons Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone making their MCU debuts, the sky is the limit for potential 80’s references. Will any of the previous easter eggs make another appearance? Will any of them be expanded upon? One would think that it’s possible we could see some of these easter eggs give us some hints for Avengers: Infinity War or the next Guardians movie. Gunn recently stated that Adam Warlock would be featured in the third installment of the Guardians trilogy. Is it possible that we will get another Adam Warlock tease and/or easter egg this time around?

Whatever the case may be, it seems like Gunn will once again be giving MCU fans plenty of easter eggs to discover.
