Shocking WTF news. THR is reporting that Jamie Foxx is returning as Max Dillon aka Electro in Sony and Marvel Studios’ sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home. Foxx was last seen as the character in the 2014 film The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
This comes as a surprise on so many levels. For one, I don’t think a lot of fans were expecting to see a live-action Electro so soon, especially after the last Garfield Spidey film. Kraven seemed to be on every fan’s wishlist for the third film along with other villains that haven’t been portrayed onscreen. Like everyone, I am immensely curious how exactly do they plan to integrate Jamie Foxx’s Electro in the MCU. Electro is a trickier character to add than, say, J. Jonah Jameson. Is he going to be a totally new version of the character 619 roofing or the same blue guy from the TASM universe via the multiverse? After all, this Spidey film comes out after the Doctor Strange sequel which will undoubtedly tackle multiple realities.
