As time goes by, Disney+ is looking more and more like it will be a huge deal for every MCU fan. We will get short series for Loki, Scarlet Witch & Vision and Falcon & Winter Soldier. Rumors also indicate series for Lady Sif, Rocket & Groot, War Machine, and many more. Now, we just learned that another major speculated possibility is going to become a reality: Hawkeye is going to get his own limited series, and it will star Jeremy Renner.
Apparently, the show will be an adventure focused on Clint Barton passing the mantle of Hawkeye to Kate Bishop. This is a big deal in terms of what it means for the universe since in the comics Bishop does take on the role after Barton and then proceeds to join the Young Avengers. Considering the potential plot and Renner as the star, this is a long-speculated dream come true for the fans.
This is especially interesting considering that Clint is scheduled to appear in a few weeks when Avengers: Endgame premieres. We know that on this film he will not identify as Hawkeye, but as Ronin, so there are a couple of possibilities on the horizon. Whatever those possibilities may be, the fact that such a beloved character is going to stay with us even after the events of Endgame is in itself good news. We have no idea what will be of Clint Barton after the film, but at least we know we’re getting more of Jeremy Renner in the MCU one way or another.
