Ever since the news broke that Disney and Fox were making a deal, people were clamoring for some Fox-owned characters to finally appear in the MCU. Naturally, many are quite interested in seeing famous X-Men to finally crossover but there has been a lot of buzz for a potential reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise. This also led to many people preparing their own fan castings for who would be perfect as Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, the Thing and the Human Torch.
Two recurring actors in many fan casts have been Emily Blunt and John Krasinski due to them having been up for previous roles. Most notably, Krasinski was quite close to staring as Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger. Now, many people hope to see him star as Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic especially after a recent fan art surfaces showing the actor as the famous character. It seems that the fans aren’t the only one, as the actor would certainly be interested in a chance to play the character, maybe even alongside his wife Emily Blunt.
Oh yeah, the Fantastic Four. I would love that! I mean listen, I’m still getting into the whole superhero thing. I didn’t read comics as a kid, not as many, I read some but not as much, but I’m a huge superhero fan so yeah, I’d love to do something like that. If there are any left, a lot of these have been taken but the ones that are left, yeah, I would love to do something like that. And listen, I’d love to work with her again so any chance I got would be great.
Krasinski would be quite an interesting choice for the role of Mr. Fantastic. He has been building up quite a diverse acting career while appearing in a variety of films like A Quiet Place, which he also directed, Detroit and The Hollars. He will also play the male lead in the upcoming Amazon TV series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. It naturally depends on the direction they take with the film, as they could embrace the more silly aspects of the franchise or take it on a serious route. One of the most popular fan artwork shows the actor as Mr. Fantastic with a more rugged exterior. It would be an interesting idea to see a veteran Richards who has been trapped in a different dimension learning about everything he could. It may potentially be an interesting way to show Doctor Strange‘s dimensional magic from a scientific angle.
Would you want to see John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic? How would you think the Fantastic Four would work in the MCU?
