Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Oscar-winning writer-producer John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) has teamed up with Marvel to develop a mysterious new television series. This comes after they reported that ABC was developing an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off back on April 9th.
Per EW: “We hear the deal involves reinventing an existing Marvel superhero character or property for ABC—but all sides are staying quiet on exactly which title Ridley is adapting.”
It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. Would this project put a stop to the S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off? What character(s) would this show feature? Would it run alongside S.H.I.E.L.D., or would it be a bridge show?
My guess is that we’ll start to hear more about these projects next month when we learn the fate of Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
