It seems like every day the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming gets bigger and bigger. Well, now according to Variety, Jon Favreau will return to the MCU as Tony Stark’s driver/ bodyguard Happy Hogan in the new spidey film. With Robert Downey Jr.‘s previously announced inclusion in the film, it should come as no surprise that he’s bringing some friends along with him. Favreau, having directed the first two Iron Man films and appearing in all three as Happy, has been a key element of the MCU since the beginning.

With Robert Downey Jr. already set to reprise his role of Tony Stark,
Sony and Marvel are looking to add a familiar face from his “Iron Man”
universe into their new “Spider-Man” realm.

the “Iron Man” movies, in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” sources tell

Marvel and Sony had no comment on the news.

We last saw Happy in Iron Man 3 where he was gravely injured in an explosion caused Aldrich Killian’s Extremis plot. While he recovered by the end of that film, how the character has changed since then and how he’s reacted to the decisions that Tony made in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War remain to be seen. And now that Happy Hogan is in the mix, can Pepper Potts be far behind? While dialogue in Civil War indicated that their relationship was on the rocks, we don’t know exactly where they stand with each other. As the ever expanding cast of Homecoming continues to grow, who knows what other Marvel characters will pop up in the web head’s first Marvel Studios feature.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into theaters on July 7th, 2017.
