Space seems to be the primary setting for much of the MCU in the coming years. Take it from James Gunn comments about his role as the eventual architect for future cosmic Marvel films and this latest blurb from our lord and savior Kevin Feige, who spoke at Brazil’s massive CCXP about the future of the MCU.

If the Avengers survive, we will see more films with them in space. I love and would like to see more films in space.

First off, no shit the Avengers survive. At the most, we’ll probably get a maximum of 3 major character deaths between Avengers: Infinity War and the end of Avengers 4. That’s a huge blow but still, I’m not doubting that most of the Avengers crew will somehow remain intact. Be it Captain Marvel, Falcon, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, or Spidey, the Avengers will live on forever. Second, Feige’s dream of having more Avengers space sagas helps paint a picture of what to expect in future films. You can count stories like the Korvac Saga and the Jonathan Hickman‘s Infinity as potential adaptations. And with the Fox-Disney deal imminent, cosmic sagas featuring Galactus and Kang the Conqueror can now be considered as likely options.

Personally, I’m all about having more Earth-based threats in future Avengers films. Folks like Doom and Norman Osborne interest me as future MCU big bads.
