As previously said by Kevin Feige, despite Disney’s successful purchase of Fox and its assets, he won’t let it dictate or change any of the plans Marvel Studios has for the MCU. In fact, we won’t see the X-Men for at least five years.

When asked about their inclusion in any of the currently announced movies, Kevin Feige said for people not to get too excited about that prospect.

“It’ll be a while,” Feige told io9 when asked about bringing the X-Men into the MCU. “It’s all just beginning and the five-year plan that we’ve been working on, we were working on before any of that was set. So really it’s much more, for us, less about specifics of when and where [the X-Men will appear] right now and more just the comfort factor and how nice it is that they’re home. That they’re all back. But it will be a very long time.”

So, don’t expect Wolverine to cameo in the upcoming Shang-Chi movie or Omega Red to show up fighting Scarlett Johansson in Black Widow. It makes sense for Kevin Feige not to rush their inclusion or alter any of their current plans for the universe. I assume we could maybe get a passing implication to the existence of mutants on Earth in The Eternals, but that’s it. At most, we’ll have to wait until at least 2024 to have a proper introduction to the X-Men in this movie universe.

We’ve already waited ten years, so what’s another five?
