One of the things I’m looking most forward to in Ant-Man & the Wasp is the new batch of added on-screen talent. As if the film doesn’t already have a stellar cast going on for it, they went and added Walton Goggins, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hannah Jon-Kamen and Morpheus himself Laurence Fishburne in the film. Fishburne, a self-proclaimed longtime Marvel fan at heart who plays Bill Foster in the movie, recently spoke to Collider to dish on his role for the first time.
All I can tell you is I’m playing Bill Foster, who was Hank Pym’s assistant. That’s how I enter into the world and I’m very excited. Peyton Reed is directing it, who directed the first one. It’s gonna be as fun and cool and smart as the first one.
Fans of the comics know Bill Foster’s stint as one of the many Pym-based superheroes, Goliath. And like in this film, Foster was at one point Hank Pym’s assistant in the source material. The question is how Bill Foster gets involved in Hank’s present day life. Maybe he gets pulled into Hank’s quest to find Janet. Maybe he’s the one who ties it all together; Goggins’ Sonny Burch and Kamen’s Ghost with Scott Lang and Hope. Maybe he ends up being the secret big bad of the film ala Guy Pearce/Aldrich Killian in Iron Man 3. So many maybes, so little to go on! All I want is to see Larry Fishburne become a giant!
