Back in April, we reported (in collaboration with That Hashtag Show) that Jessica Jones would be adding a character named “Ingrid” for the second season. The character was described as “attractive and edgy, has a history of living on the streets. Educated as a nurse, but street-wise. She is attracted to men and women.” Our speculation was that this could be a clever way of introducing Typhoid Mary to the Netflix corner of the MCU.
We still don’t know who Ingrid’s comic counter-part is, for sure, but now we know who will be bringing her to life. Leah Gibson, an alumni of the Twilight franchise, will be joining Jessica Jones in the role of Ingrid. According to Variety, Netflix declined to comment on the speculation that her character is actually Typhoid Mary. They could be holding this confirmation (if it is true) close until all of The Defenders are in the same room next week at San Diego Comic-Con.
We still know very little about the second season of Jessica Jones, with several characters that haven’t had cast announcements. The season will be aired sometime in 2018, on Netflix. In the meantime, what do you think of Gibson joining the cast? Do you think she would make a good Typhoid Mary? Let us know, in the comments!
