The beginning of the Disney+ era is nearly upon us, and particularly for Marvel fans, it will signal the start of a new era of storytelling in the MCU. Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige has been revealing little bits of information all throughout 2019 about how Marvel’s new shows premiering on the Disney streaming service will connect to the MCU movies in a way none of the other TV/Netflix series ever have before, and thanks to a recent Bloomberg profile courtesy of Slashfilm, we know even more about some details of how that will happen! He dropped a little tease in the interview that the Disney+ series Loki will have a direct tie-in to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness!

If you want to understand everything in future Marvel movies, he says, you’ll probably need a Disney+ subscription, because events from the new shows will factor into forthcoming films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Scarlet Witch will be a key character in that movie, and Feige points out that the Loki series will tie in, too. “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before,” he says. “But it does.”

Tom Hiddleston’s new solo series seems to gain more connections to the larger MCU with each new rumor, already with a reported tie-in to Thor: Love and Thunder along with Feige’s new revelation about the Doctor Strange sequel. Add to that the fact that Wandavision will directly lead into the Strange sequel with a full-on supporting role from one Wanda Maximoff, this film is looking to be one of Phase 4’s most important chapters.

Marvel’s presence on Disney+ won’t officially begin until late 2020, although with all the rumors we’ve heard about the shows’ connections to the future films, fans are beyond anxious to find out how Marvel’s new expansion into the streaming world will affect the MCU as a whole.
