We often talk about how properties from the MCU get recognized by the most ancillary of awarding bodies get snubbed by the big leagues. If it isn’t the Teen Choice Awards it’ll be some other trendy awards show that’ll give the MCU the industry recognition they deserve. So it’s kinda of a big deal that Luke Cage and Agents of SHIELD spin-off Slingshot were included in yesterday’s Emmy nomination reveal. Luke Cage was given a stunt nomination while Slingshot is up for Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama.

There are some obvious snubs like Mahershala Ali – who stole the entire show despite his half-a-season stint – not getting an acting nomination but we’ll take whatever they’ve got for these shows. Last year, Daredevil Season 2 was rightfully given the nod for the same stunt category which it sadly lost to some action-oriented show. There are some obvious snubs like Mahershala Ali – who stole the entire show despite his half-a-season stint – not getting an acting nomination Slingshot‘s nomination is a first for Marvel as they’ve never delved into short-form storytelling (other than the home video release One Shots) before. Let’s hope they’ve got more webisodes lined up for us.
