With production having recently wrapped on Captain America: Civil War, it’s time to shift the focus to Doctor Strange. Marvel has only confirmed three cast members so far – Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, and Chiwetel Ejiofor – and Rachel McAdams has also been rumored to join the cast for some time now, although nothing official has become of that just yet.

According to Variety, it looks as though we may have another name to add to the cast soon enough as Mads Mikkelsen is in early talks for a villain role in the film.

Mikkelsen’s exact role remains under wraps, but sources say he will be another antagonist to Cumberbatch’s titular sorcerer.

Of course, with Ejiofor set to portray Baron Mordo, it’d be a safe guess to presume Mikkelsen is in talks for Dormammu.

As of right now, an offer has not been made, although with Marvel having previously expressed interest in Mikkelsen for Thor: The Dark World, I’d expect that to change soon.

Production on Doctor Strange, which will be directed by Scott Derrickson, is set to begin in November, so we can expect Marvel to announce official cast additions over the coming months.
