Major Recurring Cast Member Spotted On Set of 'Avengers 4'

Some paparazzi photos have popped up from the shooting of Avengers 4.  The biggest reveal in them is that someone who has been an integral part of the MCU is on set and apparently going through lines.  If you are sensitive to SPOILERS about guest appearances or cameos, then do not read any further.

After returning in Spider-Man: Homecoming for the briefest of appearances, Gwyneth Paltrow is again going to appear alongside Tony Stark in Avengers 4.  The shots include her, Robert Downey Jr., and Mark Ruffalo.  One would presume that means all three characters make it alive out of Avengers: Infinity War, but next to nothing is known about the relationship between the films.  From Skrulls running around to the Time Stone’s ability to mess with time travel to theories about versions of Battleworld or alternate reality, it really isn’t “safe” to say what is happening here at all, save for the three characters appearing in some fashion together.

The news is also fascinating because it appeared at one point that Paltrow was essentially done with the MCU.  Like Natalie Portman, Marvel Studios seemed to be moving on from her as a love interest and the attendant pay check they were writing. When Tony talked about their distance in Captain America: Civil War many wrote her off for good.  Paltrow certainly seemed flippant about her interest earlier this year.  Maybe Avengers 4 is the last appearance for Pepper.
