Disney has been building up quite the pool of talent over the last few years. It seems that a variety of directors that were involved with Marvel Studios have also gotten the opportunity to direct other projects. The Mandalorian, for example, is a noteworthy entry with major hitters like Thor: Ragnarok‘s Taika Waititi and Iron Man‘s Jon Favreau being heavily involved. Looks like that show will have one director crossing over towards Marvel Studios, as according to MCU Cosmic, Deborah Chow is currently in talks for multiple projects. This actually isn’t her first foray into Marvel, as she was involved with a few episodes of Netflix’s Jessica Jones and Iron Fist.

What makes this news even more interesting is that she is in talks for a variety of projects. Seems they have some massive plans for the director. Sadly, we don’t have any specific shows mentioned that she would be involved with. One thing is for sure, this show won’t enter production for a few more years as she is still set as the showrunner for Star Wars‘s next Disney+ show focused on Obi-Wan Kenobi. MCU Cosmic theorizes she might be a contender for Captain Marvel 2, which is quite an interesting choice. She is great with action sequences and her involvement with The Mandalorian has given her experience with more space-focused storytelling. There is a good chance that Marvel Studios is currently scouting out talent for their planned backlog so they can get contractual obligations out of the way first. Still, as a fan of her work, here’s hoping we find out what she will be involved with sooner rather than later if this pans out.

What do you think? Is there a project you want to see Deborah Chow direct?
