We are only two weeks away from the release of Marvel and Netflix’s ambitious crossover event, The Defenders. Finally, people will be able to see the culmination of all four Netflix shows featuring the New York City heroes, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil and Jessica Jones. With a shorter eight-episode run, the show will have a lot to accomplish and is also the starting point for the next seasons of the various characters. After the first reviews have rolled out, we know how many people enjoyed the show, as it starts off with a strong 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It must be noted that these reviews are primarily for the first four episodes and not the entire season, which does take a bit away from the show’s overall reception. It also does not show the general review consensus, as the Tomatometer only summarizes how many of the reviews are positive, but not of its reviewed quality. This number can also rise or fall as soon as the show is officially released worldwide on August 18th. It is a great start and shows that there is a positive buzz surrounding the show, which may also hopefully lead to a second season later down the line.

While this is a fairly decent Rotten Tomatoes score, it is actually one of the lowest for the Netflix MCU. However, these scores tend to change as the premiere gets closer. How high do you think The Defenders will go on the Tomatometer? Let us know, in the comments!
