With this month seeing the release of the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailers, as well as the announcement of its sequel, the anticipation for the film has been building. As usual, the Marvel Studios film will be preceded by prelude comic books that lead up to the events of the film.
With the release of Marvel’s March 2017 comic book solicitations, details on the first of two prelude comics have surfaced. The project will be written by Will Corona Pilgrim the writer for all the Marvel film tie-in comics starting with The Avengers adaptation in 2014. Joining him will be artist Todd Nuack, who has helmed a number of Spider-Man comics in the past, including Spider-Man/Deadpool, Spider-Man: The Clone Saga, and Amazing Spider-Man & Silk: The Spider(fly) Effect.
The description of the prelude hints that it will be an adaptation of Spider-Man’s events in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. Read the full description below:
- PETER PARKER is just your average, nerdy, tech-loving teenager…until an unexpected turn of events lands him with the power to cling to walls and the proportionate strength of a spider!
- SPIDER-MAN’s foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins here, with part one of an adaptation of the blockbuster Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, which sees a rift between CAPTAIN AMERICA and IRON MAN rend a schism between the Avengers…with Spider-Man in the middle of it all!
The comic will be available on March 1st, 2017.
