As Marvel’s Phase 4 slate gets closer to its official start, the fans have a chance to celebrate new announcements about the new movies and shows planned for the near future, in bunches! A new report from DiscussingFilm.net today has revealed that Matt Shakman is in talks to direct an undisclosed upcoming 6-episode Marvel Studios series for Disney+, set to launch its streaming services on November 12!
There is no confirmation yet as to which series Shakman will be joining, although the most likely choices seem to be WandaVision and Loki. WandaVision is reportedly set to begin production next month with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany set to return, and Loki is scheduled to start in late January with Tom Hiddleston making his triumphant comeback as the God of Mischief.
Shakman has made quite a name for himself over the last 2 decades, and is best known for directing over 40 episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He has also helmed 2 episodes of Game of Thrones, 6 episodes of The Good Wife, 5 of the best episodes of Psych (my absolute favorite non-MCU show), and much more. With an outstanding track record through all of his projects to date, fans have plenty to be excited about with Shakman joining the MCU in it’s new ventures!
