For some time now, people have been clamoring for certain properties of the MCU to receive the industry recognition they deserve, be it Emmy nominations for the Netflix shows and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Oscar nominations for the films. Well, it looks like those pleas have been heard as three major properties in the MCU – Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Doctor Strange, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 have been nominated in Fox’s ultra-prestigious Teen Choice Awards!

Season 4 breakout star Gabriel Luna goes up against several of the Distinguished Competition’s superhero stars like Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell in the #ChoiceActionTVActor category. Going up against Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are Flash, Arrow and Prison Break. In the #ChoiceSciFiMovie category, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 takes on the likes of sci-fi masterpieces such as Power Rangers and The Space Between Us, in a fight for sci-fi supremacy. Doctor Strange along with Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel McAdams are nominated in their respective #ChoiceFantasy categories as well. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway better now sabotage this ceremony!

All jokes aside, recognition is recognition. I poke fun at the silliness of the Teen Choice Awards but it really is cool that some of the MCU is being nominated. So much of the nominees did a phenomenal job in their respective corner and I hope they get the recognition they deserve. Especially Gabriel Luna, who pretty much stole the 4th season alongside Mallory Jansen (who was criminally snubbed from any awards recognition).
