Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.: New Still Of James Hong & Ratings Information

When we last say Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., she was getting ready to head off on a vacation with her ex Dr. Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood). It was teased that, after the events of last season, Agent May would find herself unsure if she wanted to continue on with S.H.I.E.L.D., and it looks as though we’ll begin to see hints of that when Purpose in the Machine airs this Tuesday. It also appears that we may be meeting someone else from Agent May’s life – William May (James Hong.)

ABC has released the first still of Hong’s character which you can see below.

The network has also issued a press release the premiere’s ratings, and while they aren’t huge, they’re worth taking note of as the premiere pulled in the largest audience for the show since December – meaning it also did better than the season two finale!

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (9:00-10:00 p.m. – 4.8 million and 1.7/5 in AD18-49):
At 9:00 p.m., the season premiere of ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” tied CBS’ “NCIS: New Orleans” in Adults 18-49 (1.7/5) and will move ahead once playback is included. In addition, “S.H.I.E.L.D.” beat Fox’s “Scream Queens” head-to-head by 21% among Adults 18-49 (1.4/5). “S.H.I.E.L.D.” topped “NCIS: New Orleans” and “Scream Queens” as the No. 1 scripted program in the hour with Men 18-34 and Men 18-49.

• “S.H.I.E.L.D.” spiked over its May finale (on 5/12/15) in Total Viewers (+23% – 4.8 million vs. 3.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (+31% – 1.7/5 vs. 1.3/4), marking its best results since its December winter finale on 12/9/14.

More Wasp Concept Art Released

Much as he has in the past, concept artist Andy Park took to his Twitter to release another piece of concept art he designed for the Wasp in Ant-Man. As you can see below, there are some minor differences between the first bit of concept art Park released for the Wasp and the one below.

In the other piece, the jacket is considerably shorter and contains and even amount of red and black. The belt design and helmet design also vary on both, but for the most part, they’re not too far off.

What do you think? Would you have preferred these to the costume used in the film?

Chloe Bennet Reveals Who Quake Would Side With In Civil War

Going into the third season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which will lead into next May’s Captain America: Civil War, it’s safe to assume there will be bits of Civil War sprinkled throughout the story over the course of the season. Something that we’ve already seen hints at in the premiere episode. Speaking with Comicbook.com, Chloe Bennet revealed who she felt Quake would side with in Civil War and why.

“I think Cap,” she told ComicBook.com when asked about Daisy’s pick. “Not just because it’s Chris Evans, I think it would be Cap because, I mean, that just makes the most sense. Iron Man is not really for her, you know? I think Daisy’s behavior up to this point, and where she’s been means she would go with Cap.”

Jon Bernthal Talks The Punisher And Getting It Right For Fans

Ever since Jon Bernthal was announced as Frank Castle a.k.a The Punisher for the second season of Daredevil, fans have been eager to see Bernthal in costume, while also hopeful that his casting meant the potential for his own spin-off show on Netflix. With a character that has already made numerous film appearances, there’s a lot of hope that we’ll finally see the character handled correctly when Daredevil season two hits Netflix next year. Especially after how well Daredevil was handled. And it looks as though fans aren’t the only ones eager to see the Punisher done correctnly, Bernthal himself says he wants to get the character right.

I mean, you know Marvel, I can’t say anything. But look, I look at it as a huge honor and I really want to get this right. It means a lot to a lot of people out there. It means a lot to me. I’m aware of the standards of comics, and there have been many iterations of him, and I feel like I have a responsibility to do this as best as I possibly can.

Kevin Feige Responds To Comments From Both Steven Spielberg And Zack Snyder

During an event to promote the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron on DVD & Blu-Ray, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has opened up about plans for the future of the MCU, as well as what fans can expect from the upcoming Doctor Strange film, which will enter production next month.

And while all of that is certainly interesting, the most fascinating quotes from Feige are actually about something else entirely. As many fans know, Steven Spielberg recently stated that he believes superheroes films will “go the way of the western”, indicating that their that fans will eventually grow tired of them. Many took this as a negative comment, but to Feige, it’s a definite possibility that he acknowledges.

When prompted specifically about Spielberg’s “way of the Western” quote, Feige didn’t seem to consider the prediction a negative implication. “It could, but the Western lasted 40-50 years, and they still pop up occasionally,” he said. “It’s been, what, eight years since Iron Man 1 if we count that, which I do, as the beginning of our MCU? Maybe [the superhero genre] will only last another 42 years.”

While touching on Spielberg’s comment, Feige also took some time to address the recent comments from Zack Snyder regarding Ant-Man.

In reference to Snyder’s comments, Feige defended the unique qualities of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, saying, “Those are all very different movies. They all happen to be based on Marvel characters and Marvel comics, but from a genre and a cinematic perspective, they’re all very unique. Civil War may as well be a different genre from Age of Ultron.”

Chris Evans And Hayley Atwell Help A Fan Propose To His Girlfriend

While at the Salt Lake City Comic Con recently, Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell both participated in a photo-op session together with fans. Considering Evans doesn’t attend a lot of conventions, this was an added bonus to fans lucky enough to attend the convention that weekend. And for one pair of fans, it ended up being a weekend to remember.

During one of their photo sessions, a fan got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend with both Evans and Atwell there to witness the whole thing.

Evans took to Twitter later in the day to express his gratitude for the fans and the ability to interact with them at the convention, while Atwell tweeted about the proposal.

Congrats to the happy couple!
