Hey guys, Adam here! Starting this weekend, I’m taking over the MCU Weekly Pulse, a weekly piece we have here at MCU Exchange that showcases some of the week’s previous stories that weren’t quite big enough for their own article, but something we still wanted to share with you.
Iron Fist
Arguably the biggest news we received this week is that Iron Fist received a premiere date: March 17, 2017. It’s been teased for quite a while, but it was confirmed this morning that Iron Fist has officially wrapped filming. Production for The Defenders, which includes Iron Fist, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, will begin production in approximately three weeks for an anticipated Fall 2017 Netflix release.
Thor: Ragnarok
Another 2017 MCU entry, Thor: Ragnarok, is still in the process of filming in Australia. As seen in the pictures below, actress Tessa Thompson and director Taika Waititi try to have a little bit of fun around set as they share humor-based pictures on their Instagram. Thompson, who will play the Asgardian warrior Valkyrie in next November’s film, shared a The Incredibles-based meme while Waititi, whom traditionally takes part in independent films, seems to poke fun at the huge budgets surrounding Marvel blockbuster.
Luke Cage
Luke Cage debuted just over a week ago and much to Marvel’s delight, the series was watched so much the first weekend, it may have attributed to a Netflix outage. In an article we had earlier this week, actress Simone Missick shared she did her own “stunts” on the basketball court, which you can see in a tweet below. What’d you guys think of Luke Cage? Are you excited to see Power Man and Iron Fist team up in 2017?

Spider-Man: Homecoming
As we reported in last weekend’s Pulse, filming for Spider-Man: Homecoming moved from Atlanta to New York. This week, however, the filming for Spidey’s first solo MCU flick wrapped in anticipating for a release next summer.

Ant-Man
Ant-Man (or Giant-Man) was one of the show stealers of the famous airport fight scene in Captain America: Civil War. This week, Marvel concept artist Andy Park released some of the concept art he created for May’s blockbuster film.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
A pleasant surprise this season has been the introduction of Robbie Reyes, a.k.a. Ghost Rider, to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reyes, as portrayed by Gabriel Luna, has been heavily featured thus far into the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Last night Luna, alongside castmates Clark Gregg and Chloe Bennett, appeared at an AoS panel at New York Comic Con. MCUExchange coverage of that panel can be found here.
