The Marvel Cinematic Universe Crosses $9 Billion Worldwide

Ever since the release of Iron Man back in 2008, Marvel Studios has proven itself as a powerful force in Hollywood. As it stands, Marvel Studios has released a total of twelve films, each of which have opened at #1. And now thanks to Ant-Man – which recently hit theaters this past summer – doing well overseas, The Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally surpassed $9 billion worldwide!

With Marvel’s massive Phase Three line-up, which includes sequels to Guardians of the Galaxy as well as the highly anticipated Captain America: Civil War, there’s no telling how high that number will continue to grow.

Andy Park Reveals Another Piece Of Ant-Man Concept Art

Marvel Studios concept artist Andy Park has recently made a habit of showcasing concept art he’s designed for Marvel Studios on Twitter. Over the past few months, he’s revealed plenty of designs he’d worked on for Scarlet Witch as well as Vision, but most recently, he has revealed two pieces he’d designed for Marvel’s smallest hero, Ant-Man. As you’ll note below, the color scheme never really changed too much, but there are slight variations to the helmet and the upper portion of the suit in both designs.

Ant-Man can next be seen in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War before going on to co-headline Ant-Man & the Wasp in 2018!

Vin Diesel Is Willing To Be In Inhumans… Under Two Conditions

While we’re still years away from the Inhumans movie, Vin Diesel has been teasing his possible involvement since before the film was officially announced last October. While Marvel has remained quiet, it’s assumed that the role of Black Bolt, King of the Inhumans, is Diesel’s if he wants it. During the press tour for The Last Witch Hunter, Diesel told MTV that he’d be willing to be a part of the Inhumans film should Marvel be able to “woo” him with a director and script.

“I don’t do too much ’if it happens,’” Diesel explained. “Do you know what I mean?… I don’t do too much ’if it happens,’ it’s more at what level it will happen… it’s not a matter of me wooing Marvel, it’s a matter of Marvel wooing me. And I love them, but I’m just saying, show me a dope script and show me a great director, all of which I know that Kevin [Feige] is capable of, because he dazzled me when he suggested Groot. That was, like, profound to me.

It’ll more than likely be some time before we hear about any casting for the royal family, but it shouldn’t be too surprising if Diesel is eventually announced as Black Bolt when the time comes!

Holland Reveals He Suffered An Injury Filming Civil War

Tom Holland, who was announced as the new Spider-Man earlier this year, will make his debut in next year’s Captain America: Civil War before going on to star in his own film in 2017. While there’s still plenty we don’t know about Holland’s appearance as Spidey in Civil War, Holland did tell the folks over at Hey U Guys that he’d managed to hurt himself prior to filming his last shot.

“No, no violence. It was my own mistake. I basically fell over and bashed my face in front of about two hundred crew members, so not my most heroic moment! It was luckily just before my last shot; they were like, ‘Roll cameras!’, I was getting into position, everything went wrong, and they still did the take anyway. It looks great and they’ll probably just CGI out all the blood, and yeah, I was very lucky.”

Mackie Discusses The Relationship Between Falcon & Ant-Man In Civil War

Marvel’s Ant-Man managed to surprise a lot of fans this year, not only because of how great it was despite all of the pre-production drama, but also because of the surprise appearance of a certain Avenger – Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie. Fans got to see Falcon become an Avenger at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron just two months prior, so seeing him show-up to take on Paul Rudd‘s Ant-Man ended up being a highlight for most of the audience.

Going into Captain America: Civil War, where Rudd will reprise his character, Mackie’s Falcon is the only character from the Avengers that is familiar with the character. So naturally, while talking to Mackie during the press tour for his upcoming film Our Brand is Crisis, he briefly touched on the relationship between their characters in Civil War.

Yeah, our relationship is… yeah [laughs]. It grows in Civil War. But that’s Paul Rudd, man. Paul Rudd and I just make fun of each other all the time, so it just carries over into the movie. So I respect his [Kansas City] Royals – I’m pulling for his Royals – but we just make fun of each other all the time.

Captain America: Civil War will hit movie theaters in May 2016.
