Welcome to the MCU Weekly Pulse, a rundown of all the stories throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we didn’t cover in News or Features this past week.
Melissa Rosenberg Talks Jessica Jones, New Character Posters Emerge
While we’re all still waiting to hear when we can expect the second season of Jessica Jones to drop, EW asked showrunner Melissa Rosenberg if we can expect to see the character’s drinking problem play more of a role in the story moving forward.
“I think it is a problem for her currently,” EP Melissa Rosenberg says. “It is certainly an element in her life. It’s one of her issues. I don’t know if I’m interested in taking on alcoholism, but then again, you don’t know.”
And the folks over at Comic Book Resources have unearthed a few new character posters for the show. Check out the promos for Luke, Kilgrave, and Malcolm below.
Season 1 of Jessica Jones is streaming in full on Netflix.
Evans Says Civil War Is Cap-Focused, New Promo Art Emerges
While many have worried that the inclusion of so many new and future Avengers in the line-up of Captain America: Civil War will steal the focus from the titular hero, actor Chris Evans continues to assure us that this is a Cap story first and foremost. While speaking to Disney 23 Magazine, Evans touched on his character’s arc.
“Even though there are a lot characters, the focus is on Steve and his struggle,” Evans said. “Especially his struggle with Tony Stark. It’s exciting to see a guy who’s as optimistic and as selfless as Steve be met with letdown, betrayal, frustration, and selfishness. There are events and people in his life that test him — that challenge him and force him to reevaluate who he is and what he wants out of life.”
MCU Overlord Kevin Feige also spoke about the clash between the former allies and friends to the magazine.
“We’ve seen it coming. The clues were there. When you watch the other films you see how Captain America and Iron Man fight the bad guys together, back-to-back, but they have differences. And there is something that happens in the world that divides them.”
Just where the division comes from, we’ll have to wait for the film to release. Along with the quotes above, more promo art teasing the upcoming film has hit the web courtesy of this past weekend’s Toy Fair.

General Talbot and Ginger Ninja Returning To SHIELD
Thanks to some stealthy social media watching, we now know that both Adrian Pasdar and Alicia Vela-Bailey will be returning to Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. this season. They’ll be reprising their roles as General Talbot and Alisha a.k.a The Ginger Ninja, respectively. No word on when we’ll see Alisha appear next, but seeing as she already worked with the gang earlier this season, it’s a safe bet she’ll be joining up with the Secret Warriors sometime soon. As for Pasdar, the set photo he posted on Instagram was from two months ago so his appearance should be right around the corner.

James Gunn Discusses Guardians 2 Ahead Of Filming
Ahead of filming commencing for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, director James Gunn took to his Facebook to talk about his excitement for the gang getting back together.
“We know the movie we’re making and the characters we’re creating. This doesn’t mean we’re just taking the easy way out and creating the first movie over again. We’re taking risks – big ones. But we’re more comfortable doing it.”
He also confirmed that we will see a number of new additions to the cast.
“We also have a few new cast members who not only fit into the family we have, but also add something special to our Guardians mix. I never felt like there was anything missing but now that they’re here, it feels like there was. But we’ll let you know a little more about them in a few days.”
Hit the link below to read all he had to say and here’s a pic Louis D’Esposito tweeted out from the set (expect many more in the coming weeks from him).
