Here is a rather interesting surprise. Screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus were part of a Q&A on Fat-Man on Batman discussing Avengers: Infinity War and their hopes for the future. They revealed that there are a lot of characters they want to include in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but they never get a chance to do so. They did manage to include Arnim Zola in two films and even bring a part of his rather out-there comic designs into the MCU. Markus reveals that there is one more character that they really want to bring to life and that is the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing.
“I’ve wanted to put M.O.D.O.K. in, and it’s very hard to go ‘here’s the supporting character the giant head’.’ And then we’re going to get on with the story. We just came to him for information. Like you kind of have to design the whole movie around the guy with the giant head.”
M.O.D.O.K. is quite a tough character to get right. He is a mastermind that leads a bunch of evil scientists that want to shape the world’s future through the company A.I.M., which we have already seen making an appearance in Iron Man 3. The toughest challenge is to make him work visually, as he is a giant head that sits in a floating chair. He has been a dangerous foe to the Avengers but also was shown as a more comedic character. Cartoons tend to use his inflated ego as a joke but he could work as a menacing villain. After Infinity War, McFeely and Markus will certainly be able to pull off a story that could make M.O.D.O.K. work.
What do you think? What kind of story do you want to see with this character?
