We’re only hours away from the season three premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and it’s been a rather exciting day for fans so far. Thanks to ABC and Comicbook.com, we got our first look at Lash (played by Matthew Willig). And Marvel has been posting teasers for the season premiere throughout the day, helping to increase fan excitement for the premiere later this evening.

And now, thanks to the folks over at Bleeding Cool, we have our first look at the poster for the second episode, Purpose in the Machine. As revealed with the synopsis, Purpose in the Machine will see the return of an Asgardian character we first met back in season one – Peter MacNicol‘s Professor Elliot Randolph.
What’s most interesting about this poster is the tagline they’ve decided to use. For Thor fans, the tagline should be one that you recognize as it’s the name of the comic he was first introduced in. Does this necessarily mean that the story will involve Thor? No. Obviously, MacNicol’s Asgardian character will play a necessary part in the story, so that could be reason for the tagline. Either way, it’s pretty exciting to see the show taking more from the comics.
