Not even a day after reports came in that filming for Marvel’s upcoming Black Widow solo film had begun in Norway, a bunch of new set photos have hit the net, giving us our first good look at Scarlett Johansson as the super-spy.

In these new photos, Johansson‘s hair looks oddly similar to the look she sported in Avengers: Endgame, though without the notable blonde streak – and is surprisingly not the all-blonde look we’d previously expected to see. Romanoff’s look may help us to try and pin-point when exactly the film takes place; initial rumors pointed towards the film being set before the character’s debut appearance in Iron Man 2, but more recent reports had indicated the film will be set after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Romanoff’s new look would seem to support the idea that this film will span multiple different time periods, with this scene being either a flash-back or flash-forward from its expected setting – or could perhaps mean that the film won’t follow Natasha’s movements whilst on the run following Civil War after all. Either way, you can check out her new look below.

Plot details on the film are scarce, but we do know that David Harbour and Florence Pugh have joined the film in as-of-yet unrevealed roles, with Pugh‘s character reportedly “a spy on the same level as Romanoff, likely her moral opposite.” With filming now underway, we should be learning a lot more soon – likely at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con in July.

Though no official date has been set, Black Widow is expected to release on May 1st, 2020.
