If you booked a trip to San Diego Comic-Con this year for the sole purpose of seeing the grand Hall-H presentation for Marvel Studios unveiling the much-awaited Avengers 4 title, we’ve got bad news for you. Turns out, that fabled Marvel Hall-H presentation won’t happen this year on account of them wanting the hype for Avengers: Infinity War to settle. Ooooof….

It should be noted that this only applies to the Hall-H panel and that there will be a Marvel Studios presence on the convention floor celebrating its 10th anniversary. So if you booked those tickets, there are still some Marvel goodies to avail.

This is not the first time this has happened. In 2014, Marvel skipped the Hall-H presentation in favor of one big mega-announcement in October that year. Referred to as “That Marvel event,” it was where the entire Phase 3 slate was unveiled causing a massive meltdown for the fandom, a move way more impactful than any Hall-H presentation they’ve done. The silver lining to this mild disappointment is that it echoes the same circumstances back in 2014. Avengers: Age of Ultron was the next Avengers film coming out and Phase 2 was nearing its end. Much like 2019 will be the end of Phase 3 as we know it, it’s high time that Marvel announces their post-Avengers 4 slate. Fingers crossed that they do the same event later this year.
