Well, that didn’t take long. The other day, some rumors hit the web saying that everyone’s favorite superhero archer (sorry Robin Hood) would be appearing in the much-anticipated sequel to the Michael Pena magnum opus, Ant-Man. The rumor excited the hell out of fans and spread on the interwebz like wildfire. You might as well snuff that fire out as director Peyton Reed just took to Twitter to shoot down everyone’s excitement for Hawkeye in the Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Like everyone else, we are bummed out by this debunking. Not only was Hawkeye the perfect Avenger craft-wise to cameo in a film such as Ant-Man and the Wasp, he was an Avenger with so many narrative ties to the Ant-Man legacy in the comics. The idea of Clint Barton possibly utilizing the Pym Particles himself for a Goliath comic book callback is too thrilling of a thought. Also, who wouldn’t want to see Arrow Guy and Ant-Man team up again? Oh well, maybe next time.
