We’re still a few days away from the premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s third season on ABC, but that hasn’t stopped ABC from releasing promo stills from the second episode, titled “Puporse in the Machine”. As noted previously, the second episode of season three will see the return of an Asgardian character we were first introduced to back during season one of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Peter MacNicol‘s Professor Elliot Randolph.
According to the press release for Purpose in the Machine, Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) will be seeking Randolph’s help in order to locate Simmons, who was pulled away by some sort of Kree stone at the end of the season two finale. And judging by the photos below, it looks as though he brings Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki), Coulson (Clark Gregg), and Daisy (Chloe Bennet) along with him.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC on Tuesday, September 29th at 9PM EST. You can watch the opening sequence of the premiere episode by heading over here.
