Despite the not-so-successful year that 2017 has represented for the Marvel/Netflix partnership, with Iron Fist and Defenders disappointing the expectations of many fans, one of its highest points was the November release of the first season of Daredevil spinoff The Punisher. Although it was not completely unanimous among fans, it still was well received enough to make Netflix renew the show for a second season, a little more than a month after its debut. And after filming the said second season for several months, star Jason Moore, who plays Frank’s veteran friend Curtis, has announced via Instagram that they’ve finally wrapped filming!
We still have no official announcement as to when the show might return, but given that Jessica Jones and Luke Cage already had seasons in the first half of 2018, while the second season of Iron Fist premieres on September 7th and Daredevil‘s third is expected for later this year as well, it’s safe to assume that The Punisher should be the first Marvel show to premier on Netflix next year, most likely early on the first semester.
