There has been a carousel of reports today regarding Jason Statham and his potential involvement in season two of Daredevil as Bullseye, so much so that we’ve had to update our original article multiple times throughout the day. Now, yet another report has come out and this one hopes to clear up the situation. According to Bloody Disgusting, Statham was in fact up for the role, but due to the leak it seems it’s now off the table.

Bloody Disgusting doesn’t have any specific information regarding the exact reason for him pulling out, citing only speculation that his agent may have hiked the actors fee once social media fell in love with the idea, possibly leading to him demanding more money. But again, that seems to be speculation at this point.

Here’s a direct quote from Bloody Disgusting regarding the situation:

Long story short? He was legitimately in heavy negotiations for the role and the leak killed it. Perhaps his agent saw the positive uproar and instantly upped the actor’s asking fee? Perhaps the studio spotted the same excited reaction and preemptively killed the deal out of fear of Statham’s management going for more money? Who knows. The bottom line is that yesterday the Crank star was at the top of the list and deep in negotiations and today Marvel has moved on to other pastures.

Now, while this may come as bad news to some fans, some good has come out of all of this. We at least now know for sure that Bullseye will make his way to the show during it’s second season in 2016. And with production expected to start up in July, it’s safe to assume we’ll start hearing official casting news soon enough.

Now that’s Statham is out, who would you like to see in the role? Sound off in the comments below!
