Next year we will finally get to see the Guardians of the Galaxy meet the Avengers in the ambitious Avengers: Infinity War film that is currently being filmed. In a cinematic universe that inabits walking, talking raccoons, a gigantic green rage monster and talking trees, one can expect that Marvel Studios’ largest project may potentially include some of the most craziest of characters, as both the cosmic and earth sides of the universe collide. Kraglin actor, Sean Gunn, offered some insight into him once again reprising his role as Rocket Raccoon, as while Bradley Cooper voices the character, on set he is portrayed by Gunn. In the interview with MoviePilot at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in London, he actually teases the appearance of other CGI-heavy characters making their appearance.

I can tell you that the process for Rocket has been very similar to the Guardian movies. If anything, it’s even more painstaking, because there are even more CGI characters around. In Guardians 2, Baby Groot was there the whole time, but the rest of the time was mostly with other live actors. In Avengers, there are several other characters who are CGI enhanced that I’ve interacted with, which makes the process a little more deliberate.

It does open up the question what other CGI characters he potentially is talking about. The first ones that come to mind would be the classic member of the Avengers, Hulk, the probable return of the Guardians’ own mascot Groot  and the main antagonist, Thanos. The Avengers franchise is not shy from using CGI heavy characters, such as the army that invaded New York City in the first film and Ultron in Age of Ultron. If we go by behind-the-scenes leaks it seems that we will also receive some members of Thanos’ famous Black Order.  Perhaps we will even see some friends of Hulk’s time on Sakaar make a cameo that could lend their help during the impending war.

In addition, as was the case in Captain America: Civil War, some characters were given CGI flourishes that allowed their costumes to receive a bit more life, such as Black Panther and Spider-Man. It would not be surprising that these characters will also involve quite a considerable amount of effects work. Throw in the Giant-Man effect potentially returning as well and it seems that the upcoming film will involve a hefty amount of special effects to make everything come together.

Who do you think will be the CGI characters? Who do you hope will make an appearance?
