Ready your salt folks as we’ve got one of those trailer rumors again. Sometime yesterday, information regarding the worldwide premiere of the heavily-awaited debut trailer of Avengers: Infinity War surfaced online. The report came from one of them Twitter accounts and said that the trailer would be dropping 10 days from now, September the 29th, the same day the Inhumans is premiering on TV.

There are a couple of things we have to note here. If this ends up being legit, this is the most Kevin Feige has done for the Inhumans property since agreeing to make it a film with Perlmutter back in 2014. Inhumans hasn’t improved one bit since the it premiered on IMAX screens and the trailer dropping on that day – presumably during Inhumans premiere – would do wonders for the show’s first ratings. However, we’ve encountered this kind of rumor before. A couple of months back, some dude claimed that the first teaser for Thor: Ragnarok was going to drop in an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode, after attending a panel with Chloe Bennett in it. That didn’t come close to being true, as the trailer dropped online out of nowhere, a week after that.
Another thing of note is Disney and Marvel’s recent trend of partnering with major sporting events (and Jimmy Kimmel) to promote their films. They dropped Black Panther during the NBA finals, Doctor Strange with Kimmel, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 during the 2016 ACC Championships. The big Force Awakens trailer was also dropped during Monday Night Football. Disney clearly wants A LOT of eyes on their trailer premieres and we’re not sure how the Inhumans premiere meets their quota for that, especially now that Feige isn’t obliged to help out that property.
