The majority of the Phase Three heavy hitters are already cast and have been since at least last year. The big piece left not cast was Carol Danvers, a.k.a Captain Marvel. There were rumors that Marvel had secretly cast an actress to play the part before Avengers: Age of Ultron with the hope to have her in a small cameo role.
Those reports turned out not to be true as she was not in the movie even though there were plans to include her at one point. Now, thanks to a new report from Heroic Hollywood, we seem to have a top contender for the role, and it’s a name that hasn’t been attached to the role prior to today.
Heroic Hollywood is reporting they have heard that Rebecca Ferguson is at the top of the list Marvel has for the role. She is coming off of being the female lead in one of the biggest films of the summer in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and is quickly becoming a big name in Hollywood.
Some other names rumored to be in the running based off previous reports include Emily Blunt, Katee Sackhoff, Katheryn Winnick, and Natalie Dormer.
