The Marvel shows on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+, are slowly taking shape as showrunners have been hired for the Vision and the Scarlet Witch and the Falcon/Winter Soldier buddy show, leaving Loki the only Marvel show without a creative team yet. It was strange that so little was known about the first officially announced project for the streaming service. Now, the silence seems to finally be over as a rumor seems to be offering some insight into what may be brewing over at Marvel Studios. As of now, we know that Tom Hiddleston will return to the iconic role. This was a rather big surprise after his apparent death at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War. So, how would they make a series about him? Well, it looks like the series will mostly consist of flashbacks, as Hiddleston will be narrating Loki’s life growing up.
This is still just a rumor and Disney is ready to push out a considerable amount of money for these shows. The Mandalorians supposedly has an episode budget of $15 million and Disney might still be open to investing more for the right story. This decision might be controversial but there is a lot of fun to have by playing with expectations. There is a lot we don’t know about Loki growing up and they could even bring in other actors to portray a young Thor, Odin, and Frigga. We could get the return of Sif and the Warriors Three, see how their relationship with Thor was. There is also the chance that they would play a trick on us. Loki is narrating his past but in actuality, it is just his time disguised as a young child to avoid Thanos finding out he survived.
Our friends over at That Hashtag Show also have a great idea of him telling the story in the afterlife while being stuck in Valhalla. He did die fighting so he would land there. Perhaps he is stuck in Hel alongside Hela, so he is just trying to pass the time until he could escape. We do not know if there will be multiple seasons to these shows, as they are described as mini-series but anything is possible. These are also still just rumors and with no officially announced showrunner, they may just be going through a few ideas on how to approach the series. Even if they go this route, I hope we get to see Loki turn into a snake to surprise his brother.
What do you think? Would you watch Loki if Hiddleston only narrates his life?
