Marvel Television has been quite busy as of late, with the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fourth season coming to an end, The Defenders finally has a trailer released, we got a poster for The Inhumans and with Hulu’s Upfront happening, a short teaser trailer was leaked online for Runaways, which was subsequently taken down. Now, it seems that the visitors of the upfront aren’t the only ones getting a first look at the series, as the Runaways twitter has now officially released a tweet that not only features our first look at the main characters, but also our look at the show’s logo.

There are some rather interesting tidbits and hints that one can take out of one tweet. Not only do we get a look at the teenage cast of the show in the form of a tribute to one of the comic series’ most famous visuals, but the tweet also hints at the potential of Old Lace appearing. While she is in fact a Deinonychus rather than a Velociraptor, it is still a great tease and could be a running gag throughout the series, as none of the kids may know the type of dinosaur. With Lockjaw appearing in the upcoming Inhumans show, it would not be surprising that we get a few appearances of Old Lace throughout the series.
Another interesting addition is the first reveal of a logo for the show, as it takes inspiration from the original’s usage of arrows to highlight the kids fleeing from their parents, who formed “The Pride”. What is rather surprising is the simplistic approach. The comics tended to use a darker red or a combination with other colors. Most logos tend to change and with a 2018 release, there is still some time to see the logo adapted over time. It is also interesting that we get our first look at the logo through Twitter, as even the leaked footage from the Upfronts did not feature this. The classic “Marvel” logo hovering over the title is keeping with other shows, and could be a hint that this will also take part in the MCU, but so far that information is still up in the air.
What are your thoughts on the first look? Looking forward to the show? Do you think we will see Old Lace appear? Let us know, in the comments!
