For years, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been a shadow organization, working in anonymity while the rest of the world believed that the organization, taken over by Hydra, had been dissolved in the aftermath of Captain America: Winter Soldier. But one of the many new developments in season four of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is that Jeffrey Mace (Jason O’Mara) has brought the organization back into the light.
With that light comes spotlight, and in the new clip (above) we can see that Mace is working the press in tonight’s episode, “Lockup.” With Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) feeding him technical information, Mace is handling George Stephanopoulos‘ morning show like a master politician while he is grilled on the inhuman activity occurring world-wide. Mace appears stumped, however, when news of a situation in a prison in California is brought up.
Will the spotlight be a good thing for the future of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Mace may dodge questions like a pro, but the clip definitely shows the continued distrust for inhumans that the team is facing. Let us know what you think about this public persona of the organization, in the comments!
