As we get closer for the release of Jessica Jones on Netflix, Marvel and the aforementioned streaming service have started to give us new pieces of information to slowly draw us in. Last week, we got the first teaser which was followed by another showcasing Jessica’s bad reputation.
Marvel has now officially announced that critically acclaimed director S.J. Clarkson was the one to direct the first two episodes of the series. If the rumors are true, those episode titles are “AKA Ladies Night” and “AKA Crush Syndrome.” She will also serve as an executive producer for the series premiere.
Clarkson has previously worked on Orange is the New Black, Bates Motel, and Dexter. Here is what Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb had to say about their new director/producer.
S.J.’s vision of the material is spectacular. She drew performances from our cast that are nothing short of remarkable. When the world gets to know Jessica Jones’ name it will be in no small part from S.J.’s sparkling talent. We can’t wait to work with her again.
While I am not super familiar with her work, she has had success at each of the previously mentioned stops in her career and should be a nice addition to the cast and crew.
Jessica Jones debuts exclusively on Netflix November 20th at 12:01 PST.
