Hot off the heels of the overwhelming surge of MCU news yesterday, more details on the upcoming Phase 4 properties have surfaced. Stranger Things star David Harbour shared more info on his role in Black Widow in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, where he revealed the identity of his character Alexei Shostakov aka the Red Guardian.

Comic fans know that moniker to be that of Russia’s own answer to Captain America, who was at one point Black Widow’s husband in the comics. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Harbour further described the character as a flawed and complicated super-soldier. Harbour also mentions in the interview above that Natasha and Alexei will have some established history in the film. Knowing that the film will indeed be set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, it’s gonna be super fun and interesting to see how Natasha revisits and responds to her dark past.
