Here is some great news coming out of SDCC 2017’s The Defenders panel, as the visitors of Hall H got their very first look at footage from the upcoming The Punisher show. While a trailer has yet to drop for the show, there are some rather interesting scenes people attending the panel are talking about. Here is a small look at what the lucky visitors go to see, as Jon Bernthal took over the stage from Marvel TV head, Jeph Loeb.
It starts off with a sequence featuring Castle’s past, as his daughter plays the guitar. A lot of flashes from where he is currently in the past that he wished to bring back, as he is then in a car chase involving the Dogs of Hell, who seem to be making a return from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and season 2 of Daredevil once again. In the Punisher’s usually bloody fashion someone’s head explodes, as he is shot from the distance.
They certainly are not shying away from what one would expect and while it is not much to go on, it does seem to build upon Daredevil‘s story arc that made the character so compelling. It makes sense that he may continue his rampage against the people that killed his family, but the integration of flashbacks sounds quite interesting. Some are even describing it as being quite artistic, which could lead to some beautiful sequences once the show is released.
What do you think of this footage? Looking forward to the show?
