Today we got our first look at Black Widow fighting Taskmaster in her titular film. Marvel Studios was not done yet as they also revealed our first look at the Celestials in the upcoming The Eternals film. The film will explore more of the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that was hinted at in Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel. The race of immortal beings known as the Eternals were created by the higher beings known as Celestials. This piece of artwork may be part of the opening shot of the film retelling the creation of the Eternals similar to how Black Panther opened to the foundation of Wakanda.

We actually already met a few Celestials in the MCU. We got a look at the head of one of them that is now known as Knowhere, which appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War. In the first Guardians film, there was also a short sequence featuring Eson using the power stone while they were visiting the Collector. That is not all, as we also met the Celestial Ego, Peter Quill’s father in Guaridans of the Galaxy Vol. 2. There is a chance we may revisit these characters in the film but it is unsure how much they will play into The Eternals. This will also be the deepest look at how the MCU came into existence and may feature our largest introspective into this world’s mythology.
What do you think of the artwork? Any Celestials you hope to see appear in the film?
