Ant-Man and the Wasp is putting together quite a cast. Michelle Pfeiffer is playing Janet van Dyne and another shape-changing hero, Goliath, will be portrayed by Laurence Fishburne. They are joining alongside other new additions Walton Goggins and Hannah John-Kaman, as well as the already large returning cast from the first film. It seems that is not the end of it, as That Hashtag Show is reporting that Sean Kleier will also be joining in a still unknown role.
The only information they have provided on the Kleier’s role is that he will be a special agent, who acts as the “mole” of the story. There is the possibility that he works alongside Randall Park‘s Jimmy Woo, who is a well-known character from S.H.I.E.L.D. in the comics. The first film worked well as a heist film and it seems the next one is heading into a slightly different direction. With Ghost being a villain in the film, we may be getting a lot of inspiration from spy thrillers and Mission Impossible this time around. Given Hank Pym’s own S.H.I.E.L.D. past we may see some of that play a much larger role this time around.
The question remains, who is he playing? That Hashtag Show has a good theory with him possibly being CIA Special Agent Geoffrey Ballard, who would become known as the villain Centurion. An agent who goes rogue or works as a “mole” with ties to Ant-Man does open up another possibility. Maybe Kleier will portray the third Ant-Man, Eric O’Grady from the Irredeemable Ant-Man run? The shrinking formula of Yellowjacket is still out there, so he may try to get his hands on it for his own good. Seeing Ant-Man try to keep a copycat from destroying his reputation could be an interesting way to force Scott to decide what makes him a hero.
Who do you hope Kleier will be bringing to life? Let us know, in the comments!
