With 4 Marvel Studios’ properties set to release in 2020 in theaters and on Disney+, the team is now ramping up production for their 2021 projects, which are set to make next year the most-jam packed 12 months in the history of the MCU. One of the projects that has largely flown under the radar until recently is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and while most of the news regarding this film have been rumors, today brings some very exciting concrete news. We at MCUExchange reported months ago that the movie would be casting multiple villains, and thanks to a report from the DisInsider, we have learned that Florian Munteanu has been cast as one of those secondary villains!
His specific role has not been announced yet, but he seems to be just the kind of actor that would fit fantastically for any of the villain roles in this movie. He not only starred as a formidable opponent in 2018’s Creed II pitted against the MCU’s own Killmonger, Michael B. Jordan, but he is also a professional heavyweight boxer and has worked as a fitness model. We are all excited to see what role he fills in the movie, which is currently in production. He joins a star-studded cast including Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Leung as the Mandarin, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, and Rosalind Chao, all currently hard at work making Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in preparation for a worldwide release on February 12, 2021!
