As the production of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 has gone on, it has seemed like every character in the MCU would be involved in the big climax ot the MCU as we now it.  One actress, however, has still hasn’t gotten the call to be involved with either movie, according to Deadline.

In regards to [Emily] VanCamp reprising Sharon Carter in future Avengers movies or Captain Marvel, that’s still TBD for the actress. “Marvel can call at any minute,” says VanCamp.

The fact that she has yet to be called into an Avengers movie is very different from Captain Marvel.  While the latter has yet to begin filming, the Russo Brothers are done with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 has now wrapped with many of the main cast members.  Captain Marvel also is an odd film to mention here.  While her role in the government might fit that picture in some ways, the 1990’s setting would leave her character as a child during most of the main action.

Now VanCamp could still shoot a scene or two for Avengers 4.  She says that she is in a minute to minute situation with Marvel Studios.  That said, it would seem odd to bring her in this late into the process if she was going to have any kind of significant role in the series.  The really peculiar part is that one would think that the Russo Brothers would be the most likely Marvel creatives to include her character.  They introduced her in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and then fit in a romantic subplot in Captain America: Civil War.  Why they bothered to lay all that groundwork only to leave her out of their next two films is a head scratcher.  If Captain America were to die in either Avengers films, it would leave a really loose plot point.

Are you sad?  Would you like a bit more Agent 13 in future MCU movies?  If she disappears like Natalie Portman will you feel like there have been some unresolved plot issues?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.
