It’s a big day for Marvel Studios on Disney+! Hot off the heels of the news that The Umbrella Academy‘s Jeremy Slater will be writing Moon Knight, its now been reported that Jessica Gao, best known as a writer on Rick and Morty – for which she won an Emmy – has boarded She-Hulk as the series’ head writer.

Gao will develop and lead the writing team for the upcoming Disney+ series, which will see the MCU debut of Jennifer Walters, better known as She-Hulk. Gao certainly seems like a great choice for the show, and has a great resume that also includes The Mighty B! and Silicon Valley. Given her very comedy-driven resume, it seems safe to say we could be looking at a more comedic tone for the series – maybe along the lines of Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy?

We don’t know a lot about what exactly She-Hulk will entail, but it’s probably a safe bet that Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Professor Hulk in the series, likely acting as a mentor for Jennifer – a direction Ruffalo recently said he’d like to see the character take in the MCU. With any luck we’ll learn who will be playing Jennifer very soon, so stay tuned for more news on the series as production ramps up.
