One thing that really jumps out is the return of Deke in the upcoming 100th episode. His name is dropped in the synopsis for episode 11 alongside the return of Absorbing Man but one would think he might return for flashbacks. Yet his name returns in this synopsis as well which means he not only survived the blast but also was transported back in time. Yo-Yo pointed to a constant loop that highlights how the team always goes back in time to learn about their future only to repeat that experience. So far, there never was a mention of Deke return so perhaps this was the first time he made this heroic sacrifice and was also brought back in time to finally save the planet from being quaked.
Still, the major aspect of this synopsis is that it confirms that Coulson slowly dying has a strong tie to the Ghost Rider. We shortly saw him discuss a deal he made with Robbie Reyes so that he could take down Aida. It seems that the rider is trying to get his hands on a soul that was brought back from death. Perhaps this season will explore the circumstances that kept him alive a bit more. We got glimpses of the Kree actively using their blood to revive humans on the Lighthouse so there might be more to it than just a reviving blood transfusion. Whatever it is, it looks like it will be quite an exciting episode as many questions are answered.
What do you think this means for the 100th episode? Do you think Deke returned with the rest of the team to the past? Do you think there might be more surprises in store?
