Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness is arguably the most exciting Marvel Studios film in production. Primary filming may have already wrapped but we still know very little about the MCU’s 28th film release. But thanks to our friends at The Iluminerdi, we now have an idea of what’s in store in the film.
Rumors of Shuma Gorath being a part of the movie have swirled for some time now but the Illuminerdi has just confirmed that character appearance along with what the creature’s role is. Shuma Gorath is allegedly the film’s villain and will be in pursuit of America with the intention of harnessing her power of jumping through her self-made multiversal windows.
The Doctor Strange sequel is expected to wrap up an ongoing story arc involving, blatantly, multiversal madness. We’ve seen nods towards this premise in this year’s Wandavision and are rumored to see more later this year with Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home. This seems like an interesting narrative and the perfect time for the Sorcerer Supreme to intervene and help America defend herself from the clutches (tentacles) of evil. Wanda Maximoff’s inclusion in the film may even provide her with the opportunity for redemption from the wrongdoings she caused in Westview. Of course, that’s only if she isn’t too busy stirring up trouble of her own in an attempt to bring back her children.
