The identities of those who survived and perished at the end of Avengers: Infinity War has been heavily speculated by fans. We’ve heard the Russos confirm some of the survivors and casualties – which included one Betty Ross – but most of them were ancillary characters of the MCU. Now, we may know the identities of two more survivors, namely Shuri & Ramonda. According to Black Panther star Angela Bassett who was asked if the Queen Mother and the heir of the Wakandan throne turned into dust at the end of Infinity War:

No. Neither did my daughter. Shuri, she’s a bright girl there in Wakanda. So…

So we’re not necessarily sure if this is a solid confirmation that Shuri and Ramonda survived the Snapture. On one hand, it sounds a bit like conjecture on the Bassett’s part. On the other, Bassett and Leticia Wright could have filmed scenes together for Avengers 4. Assuming Shuri and the Queen Mother were indeed spared by the Snapture, this means that the mantle of Black Panther will have likely been taken by Shuri, essentially making her the new Queen of Wakanda in a world decimated in half. Shuri as the ruler of Wakanda bodes for some really exciting Black Panther stories down the line.
