Following that incredibly underwhelming Venom trailer that didn’t win the majority of fans over, a new report from our friends at That Hashtag Show is saying that their Silver Sable/Black Cat spin-off Silver and Black is now being delayed indefinitely, placing Sony’s planned Spidey Cinematic Universe in an unfortunate rut. Director Gina Prince-Bythewood confirmed the report via Twitter hinting at script rewrites.
Still working on the script. All about the script.

When the film was originally announced sometime last year, it had famed comic book movie scribe Chris Yost handling story duties with a set March 2018 release date. Two weeks ago, Deadline revealed that Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) were being tapped to take over story duties for the film. Looking at the production timeline as it were, it’s a bit baffling to see them shift writers this late in the game knowing they had a March 2018 filming date. Classic Sony, I guess. Overall, this scribe change is actually pretty exciting. Beer and Robertston-Dworet seem to have an inclination writing geek-friendly films so we’re crossing our fingers that they make good with the film’s script now they have more time to work on it.
