Right now, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is like that kid in school who isn’t allowed to play with the other kids during recess. As it looks out the window to the schoolyard, it sees the Marvel/Netflix shows having fun Defenders-ing it up. And look, the Arrowverse guys get to play with each other all the damn time. So with a new kid coming to school in the form of Disney’s ABC’s IMAX’s Marvel’s Scott Buck’s Inhumans, perhaps S.H.I.E.L.D. has a new friend it can play with.

ComicBook.com interviewed Sonya Balmores, portrayer of Inhumans enforcer Auran. The site asked about potential crossovers with other television shows and the films, which Balmores responded with:

“I don’t know anything about that but, I mean, Agents of SHIELD is gonna be right after us, so yeah,” Balmores said. “We’ve got Inhumans, they’ve got NuHumans, I don’t see that not being a possibility.”

Balmores ignores the part about crossing over with film (let’s be real, that isn’t happening), but is a bit more coy when talking about S.H.I.E.L.D. We imagine that the respective showrunners of both Inhumans and S.H.I.E.L.D. are hard at work on their own shows, but the question just keeps coming up again and again.

As the actress mentions, S.H.I.E.L.D. is returning on ABC right after Inhumans, so it could be easy for characters major and minor to pop into the O.G. ABC show in between Inhumans seasons. The movie characters and Netflix characters do this quite often, as we’ve seen. And with S.H.I.E.L.D. going interstellar, it wouldn’t be too much to ask for a quick stop to the Moon.

But when and if it’ll happen, it would be surprising to see it right away, even with an apparent confirmation that it will happen one day. How nice it would be to see our beloved S.H.I.E.L.D. out on the playground, interacting with its new friend.

However, if you ask us personally, that new kid is either okay, or really, really annoying.
